The Best Garage Storage Ideas

Is your garage a mess? Do you not even know where to start to tackle the clutter?

I've been there too. My garage was a mess. I couldn't even park my car in it because of all of the clutter. There were even mice running around in my garage, getting into everything and destroying things.

But a few simple garage storage ideas helped me to get my garage in shape and they can do the same for you.

Are you worried that decent garage organization systems are going to cost you an arm and a leg?

It doesn't have to be that way. You don't need to go buy an expensive system to get organized. So what do you need? What are the best garage storage ideas?

There are two things that every garage needs:
1. Shelving
2. Containers

There are several different ways that you can go with the shelving. It can be open, closed, plastic, metal, whatever you want it to be. With much more vertical space than horizontal going for you in your garage, you need to make the best use of it with good shelving.

Containers are great garage storage ideas. There are containers designed specifically for nails and screws. No more having to hunt for the right nail for your needs, you'll have them all neatly organized. Containers are also great for keeping all of the bugs out of your things.

And no need to get expensive with either of these. A few brackets and some wood can make great garage storage shelves. You can get decent sized containers that work great for organizing your garage for under $5.

Warning: There is such a thing as too much of a good thing. Don't get too many containers or put shelving on every wall of your garage. Figure out what you need before you go shopping.
