The Multi-Use Garage

A garage isn't just a place to store your vehicle, or somewhere to toss all those things that don't have a place in your house. There are many different purposes for a garage, once you have gotten rid of all the clutter and have stored everything in an organized fashion.

It can be someplace to work on hobbies, or a work shop for repairing your vehicles, or even things around the house. In the Summer time, it can also be used as an extra living space, to have parties in, or just to hang out in the evening with your friends, watching a game or a favorite movie.

There are also other purposes as well. You can convert a garage to another living space with the help of a garage conversion. What different applications is really only limited to your imagination, and the available space.

Here are some things that you can do to create a Multi-use garage.

One of the simplest things is to turn it into an extra area for entertaining. Everyone likes to throw a party, whether it is a birth day, or just about any other occasion. Some of the problems you may encounter are changes in weather, bugs and bees around your food, just to name a few.

Now you can add extra space, with a garage screen. These attach directly to your existing garage door areas, are made from a light but sturdy mesh design, with UV protection. Once attached, they can be easily opened with a zipper at the side, or a door. Some even attach to the outside frame, so at night you can still close the door for added security.

With the addition of a garage screen, you can now have that extra space during the Summer months. You can put tables for eating inside, to keep out the bugs, and not have to worry about storms putting a damper on your party.

During the evening, you can hang out in a cooler area, until the house cools down, saving you much money on electricity bills trying to run an air conditioner. You can find a variety of different kinds and styles of garage screens online.

Another thing that many people do is try to combine a garage with a work space. This can be done in many ways. If you are tight on actual space, you can buy folding work benches, which attach directly to a wall. They fold down when you are using them, and when you're finished, you just raise them up, secure them to the wall, and be on your way. Some even have built in wall storage and organizers, so when you fold up your table, you can lock up your valuable tools, and any projects you may still be working on.

These are just a few of the examples you can use to create a Multi-use garage. You can find some more great ideas, plans, storage organizers and garage systems online through many resources. Some things like pegboard organizers you can even find at you local home improvement outlets for extremely reasonable prices.

It is really up to you how you use your garage space. A good thing to start with is really sitting down and thinking about where you want to go with your garage, and what you other uses will work best for your needs.
